These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Watchbox World website, online services, communications, retail services, appointment-based services, purchase and sale transactions, trade-in transactions, watch sourcing services, shipping services, and any other products or services offered by Watchbox World.
Throughout these Terms, “Watchbox World,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Watchbox World and, where applicable, its owners, affiliates, employees, agents, representatives, contractors, and service providers. “Customer,” “buyer,” “seller,” “you,” and “your” refer to the individual or entity using our services or entering into a transaction with us, as applicable.
By visiting our website, submitting an order, purchasing a watch, requesting a quote, selling or trading a watch to us, accepting a purchase offer, electronically signing an agreement, submitting payment, or otherwise using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use our services or complete a transaction with Watchbox World.
1. ABOUT WATCHBOX WORLD
Watchbox World is an independent luxury watch dealer specializing in the purchase, sale, trade, sourcing, and authentication of luxury timepieces.
Our inventory may include new, unworn, pre-owned, vintage, discontinued, collectible, limited-production, and previously serviced watches from manufacturers including, but not limited to, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Omega, Cartier, Breitling, Tudor, Vacheron Constantin, and other luxury brands.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Watchbox World is an independent dealer and is not an authorized dealer, authorized distributor, authorized repair center, or official representative of any watch manufacturer whose products may appear on our website.
All manufacturer names, trademarks, logos, model names, and reference numbers are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification and descriptive purposes.
2. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to transact with Watchbox World.
By using our services, you represent that:
you are legally competent to enter into the transaction;
all information you provide to us is accurate and truthful;
you are not using our services for fraudulent, unlawful, or prohibited purposes; and
if you are acting for a company or another person, you have authority to bind that company or person.
We may refuse or cancel a transaction if we reasonably believe these requirements have not been satisfied.
3. PRODUCT INVENTORY AND AVAILABILITY
Luxury watches are frequently unique inventory items. A particular reference, configuration, year, dial, bracelet, condition, or complete set may have only one unit available.
Displaying a watch on our website does not guarantee that it remains available.
Inventory may be offered simultaneously through our website, physical locations, private clients, dealer networks, marketplaces, or other sales channels.
If a watch becomes unavailable after an order is submitted, we may cancel the order and issue a full refund of all amounts paid for the unavailable merchandise.
Watchbox World is not responsible for consequential losses arising solely because an item becomes unavailable before an order is accepted.
4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
We make commercially reasonable efforts to describe each watch accurately.
Listings may include information concerning:
brand;
model;
reference number;
serial range or production period;
case material;
case diameter;
dial;
bezel;
bracelet or strap;
movement;
condition;
approximate year;
box;
warranty card or papers;
service history;
included accessories;
aftermarket or replacement components; and
other relevant characteristics.
Because many watches we sell are pre-owned, vintage, discontinued, or previously serviced, variations may exist between individual examples of the same reference.
Photographs form part of the product description.
Minor differences in color, appearance, reflection, polish, texture, or scale may result from photography, lighting, screen settings, image compression, or other technical factors.
5. PRE-OWNED AND VINTAGE WATCHES
Unless expressly described as “New” or “Unworn,” customers should assume that a watch has been previously owned or worn.
Pre-owned watches may display normal signs of use, including minor scratches, marks, polishing, bracelet stretch, patina, fading, replacement parts, or other age-related characteristics.
Vintage watches require additional consideration because components may have been repaired, refinished, restored, or replaced during their lifetime.
Unless specifically stated in writing:
we do not guarantee that every component of a vintage watch left the manufacturer together;
we do not guarantee an uninterrupted service history;
we do not guarantee that vintage luminous materials retain their original appearance;
and we do not guarantee water resistance on vintage watches.
Material aftermarket, replacement, customized, refinished, or non-original components known to us will be disclosed when reasonably identifiable and material to the transaction.
6. CONDITION GRADING
Descriptions such as:
“New,”
“Unworn,”
“Like New,”
“Mint,”
“Excellent,”
“Very Good,”
“Good,”
“Fair,” or similar terms
are condition opinions based on our inspection standards.
Condition grading contains an element of professional judgment and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a watch is completely free from microscopic marks, handling signs, manufacturing variations, or age-related characteristics.
Customers should review listing photographs and request additional information before completing a purchase if a particular cosmetic characteristic is important to them.
7. BOXES, PAPERS, CARDS, RECEIPTS AND ACCESSORIES
A listing that states “Box and Papers” means that the watch is accompanied by the accessories specifically described in the listing.
Unless we expressly state that an accessory is the original accessory issued with that exact watch, the presence of a box, manual, tag, pouch, booklet, or other accessory should not automatically be interpreted to mean that it was originally supplied with that watch.
If a listing specifically describes an original manufacturer warranty card, certificate, receipt, box, or other accessory, that representation becomes part of the product description.
Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from possession of a manufacturer warranty card and may have expired or may be subject to manufacturer restrictions.
8. AUTHENTICATION GUARANTEE
Watchbox World stands behind the authenticity of watches sold by us.
Before a pre-owned watch is offered for sale, we use commercially reasonable inspection and authentication procedures appropriate to the watch, which may include examination of identifying characteristics, reference information, serial information, case construction, dial characteristics, movement characteristics, bracelet or clasp details, and other relevant attributes.
Our Authentication Guarantee means that a watch represented by Watchbox World as a genuine product of a particular manufacturer is guaranteed to be authentic as represented.
The Authentication Guarantee does not mean that every individual component is necessarily original to the watch if the listing expressly discloses aftermarket, replacement, service, customized, restored, or non-original components.
If an original purchaser has a legitimate concern regarding authenticity, the purchaser must notify Watchbox World and provide reasonable supporting information.
We reserve the right to require inspection of the watch before determining an authenticity claim.
When appropriate, Watchbox World may request an assessment from the manufacturer, an independent watchmaker, authentication specialist, or another mutually acceptable qualified professional.
If a watch sold by Watchbox World is conclusively determined to be counterfeit or materially misrepresented as to authenticity, Watchbox World will, after return and verification of the watch, provide an appropriate remedy up to and including rescission of the transaction and refund of the purchase price.
The Authentication Guarantee applies only to the watch in substantially the condition in which Watchbox World sold it and does not apply where the watch has subsequently been materially altered, modified, or combined with counterfeit components without our involvement.
9. NO MANUFACTURER AFFILIATION
Watchbox World is an independent reseller.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by Rolex SA, Patek Philippe SA, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Omega, Cartier, Breitling, Tudor, or any other manufacturer whose products are sold or referenced by Watchbox World.
A manufacturer’s trademark appearing on a product or listing identifies the manufacturer of the relevant product and does not represent a commercial affiliation with Watchbox World.
10. PRICING
All prices are displayed in United States Dollars unless otherwise indicated.
Prices may change without notice due to factors including market conditions, inventory costs, foreign exchange rates, manufacturer pricing, import costs, tariffs, scarcity, condition, sourcing expenses, or general market demand.
The price applicable to an order is ordinarily the price confirmed when the order is accepted.
Prices may differ depending on payment method where a payment-method discount or other adjustment is clearly disclosed before the customer completes the transaction.
For example, Watchbox World may offer discounted pricing for wire transfer or cryptocurrency transactions because those methods may involve different processing costs than credit-card transactions.
Promotions and discounts cannot be combined unless expressly stated.
11. PRICING AND LISTING ERRORS
Although we make reasonable efforts to ensure pricing accuracy, typographical, technical, inventory, or data-entry errors may occur.
If an obvious pricing error is discovered before shipment, Watchbox World may cancel the affected order and provide a full refund.
We will not charge a customer an increased price after shipment merely because an internal pricing error is subsequently discovered.
Nothing in this provision permits Watchbox World to engage in deceptive pricing practices.
12. ORDER SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE
Submitting an order does not necessarily mean that Watchbox World has accepted it.
An automated order confirmation generally confirms only that we received your order.
We may conduct payment verification, identity verification, fraud screening, inventory verification, shipping verification, or other reasonable reviews before accepting an order.
An order is considered accepted when Watchbox World confirms acceptance, processes it for fulfillment, or ships the merchandise, depending on the circumstances of the transaction.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order before shipment for legitimate reasons, including:
inventory unavailability;
suspected fraud;
payment failure;
pricing errors;
identity-verification concerns;
shipping restrictions;
compliance concerns;
sanctions restrictions;
suspected resale fraud;
or inability to safely complete the transaction.
If we cancel a fully paid order before shipment, the amount paid for the cancelled merchandise will be refunded.
13. PAYMENT METHODS
Watchbox World may accept one or more of the following payment methods:
credit cards;
debit cards;
bank wire transfers;
ACH transfers;
cryptocurrency;
financing through approved third parties;
or other methods expressly approved by Watchbox World.
Available methods may differ depending on transaction size, customer history, shipping destination, watch value, or risk factors.
We may require cleared funds before merchandise is released.
14. BANK WIRE TRANSFERS
Customers paying by wire transfer are responsible for ensuring that funds are transmitted using the correct banking instructions supplied by Watchbox World.
Because fraudulent wire-instruction schemes exist, customers should independently verify any unexpected change in payment instructions before sending funds.
Watchbox World will never be responsible for funds sent to an unauthorized third party because the customer relied on fraudulent instructions that did not originate from an authorized Watchbox World communication, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.
Orders paid by wire may not be shipped until the funds have been received and cleared.
15. CRYPTOCURRENCY PAYMENTS
When cryptocurrency is accepted, the transaction may be processed directly or through a third-party cryptocurrency payment processor.
A cryptocurrency quotation may be valid only for a specified period because cryptocurrency prices fluctuate.
The customer is responsible for sending:
the correct cryptocurrency;
to the correct blockchain network;
to the correct wallet address;
and in the correct amount.
Blockchain transactions ordinarily cannot be reversed.
Where Watchbox World approves a refund for a purchase originally paid in cryptocurrency, unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, the refund obligation will ordinarily be based on the U.S. Dollar purchase value rather than any subsequent increase or decrease in the market value of the cryptocurrency.
The method by which the refund is transmitted may depend on the payment processor, applicable law, and transaction circumstances.
16. FRAUD PREVENTION AND IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Luxury watches are high-value merchandise and therefore present increased risks involving payment fraud, identity theft, stolen financial instruments, chargebacks, money laundering, and shipping fraud.
Watchbox World may use reasonable fraud-prevention procedures.
Depending on the transaction, we may request:
government-issued identification;
billing-address verification;
shipping-address verification;
proof of ownership;
payment verification;
bank confirmation;
additional transaction information;
or other documentation reasonably necessary to verify the transaction.
We may refuse a transaction when verification cannot reasonably be completed.
Any personal information collected for these purposes will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
17. TAXES
Customers are responsible for sales tax, use tax, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or other governmental charges applicable to their transactions.
Where Watchbox World is legally required to collect sales tax or another tax, the applicable amount will be added to the transaction.
Customers claiming a resale or tax exemption must provide legally sufficient exemption documentation before the transaction is completed.
Watchbox World may refuse an exemption certificate that appears incomplete, invalid, expired, or inconsistent with applicable requirements.
18. SHIPPING OF CUSTOMER PURCHASES
Watchbox World may ship high-value merchandise through FedEx, UPS, another secure carrier, armored transportation provider, or another appropriate service.
Where available, shipments may be sent using expedited and insured services.
Signature confirmation may be required.
For high-value transactions, an adult signature may be required and packages generally will not be left unattended.
Watchbox World may restrict delivery to:
the verified billing address;
a verified residential or business address;
an approved carrier facility;
or another address specifically approved by us.
We may decline requests to reroute high-value shipments after dispatch.
19. SHIPPING TIME
Any shipment date or delivery estimate communicated by Watchbox World is an estimate unless expressly guaranteed.
If we state a shipping period, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to ship within that period.
If no shipping period is stated, orders will be processed in accordance with applicable federal law.
If merchandise cannot be shipped within the promised period or applicable legal period, Watchbox World will provide any delay notice, cancellation option, consent request, or refund required by applicable law.
Shipping estimates do not constitute a guarantee of carrier delivery time once an item has been tendered to the carrier.
20. DELIVERY AND RISK OF LOSS
For merchandise purchased from Watchbox World and shipped using a shipping method arranged by us, risk of loss generally remains with Watchbox World until delivery is confirmed at the authorized delivery destination, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
The customer becomes responsible for the merchandise after confirmed delivery.
If the customer independently requests a carrier reroute, alternate delivery location, hold request, forwarding arrangement, or other delivery modification after shipment without Watchbox World’s written approval, responsibility for losses resulting from that modification may transfer to the customer to the extent permitted by law.
Customers should inspect packages promptly and immediately report evidence of tampering, damage, or missing contents.
21. LOST OR DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
If a shipment arranged by Watchbox World is lost or damaged in transit before confirmed delivery, customers must cooperate reasonably with any investigation or insurance claim.
This may include supplying:
photographs;
packaging;
carrier documentation;
identification;
signed statements;
police reports where appropriate;
or other reasonable supporting documentation.
A claim should be reported promptly after discovery.
Watchbox World may investigate the claim with the applicable carrier or insurer before issuing a replacement or refund.
Nothing in this provision limits statutory rights that cannot legally be waived.
22. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
International orders may be subject to additional restrictions.
The recipient is responsible for import duties, customs charges, VAT, brokerage charges, clearance fees, and local taxes unless Watchbox World expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Customs authorities may delay or inspect packages.
Certain watches or straps containing exotic animal materials may be subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (“CITES”) or other import/export restrictions.
Where necessary, Watchbox World may remove, replace, or decline to ship an exotic-material strap internationally.
Customers are responsible for confirming that merchandise may lawfully be imported into their destination country.
If an international customer refuses delivery because of customs charges or other recipient obligations, any refund may, to the extent permitted by law, be reduced by actual unrecoverable shipping, customs, brokerage, insurance, or return expenses.
23. RETURNS — WATCHES PURCHASED FROM WATCHBOX WORLD
Unless a product listing, invoice, special-order agreement, or other written agreement expressly states otherwise, eligible watch purchases may be returned under the following conditions.
A return request must be submitted to Watchbox World within seven (7) calendar days after confirmed delivery.
After receiving return authorization, the customer must follow the return instructions provided by Watchbox World.
The watch must be returned:
in the same condition in which it was delivered;
without new scratches, damage, wear, alteration, or modification;
with all accessories delivered with the watch;
with all box, papers, warranty cards, certificates, links, tags, booklets, and other included items;
and with any Watchbox World security tag, seal, or return-control device intact where applicable.
The return right is intended to allow reasonable inspection of the watch, not extended use.
A customer should not wear a watch beyond what is reasonably necessary to examine fit and appearance if the customer may wish to return it.
24. NON-RETURNABLE AND FINAL-SALE ITEMS
A transaction may be designated “Final Sale” only where that restriction is disclosed before purchase.
Subject to applicable law, examples may include:
specially sourced watches obtained specifically at the customer’s request;
customized or personalized watches;
engraved merchandise;
items materially altered at the customer’s request;
certain consignment merchandise where disclosed;
or other merchandise clearly identified as Final Sale before payment.
The fact that an order was paid by wire transfer or cryptocurrency does not, by itself, eliminate return rights otherwise expressly provided by Watchbox World.
Final-sale restrictions do not eliminate rights relating to counterfeit merchandise, fraud, material misrepresentation, or other rights that cannot legally be waived.
25. RETURN INSPECTION
Returned watches are inspected before a discretionary return refund is approved.
If the watch has been worn, damaged, altered, opened, serviced, modified, or returned incomplete, Watchbox World may deny the discretionary return or, where legally permissible and appropriate, deduct the objectively reasonable amount of loss caused by the customer’s actions.
We will not impose arbitrary deductions unrelated to an actual loss in value.
Customers should not permit another dealer, jeweler, watchmaker, or third party to open or modify a watch during the return period without first obtaining Watchbox World’s approval if they intend to exercise the discretionary return policy.
26. REFUNDS
Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Processing time may depend on:
the payment method;
financial institution;
card network;
cryptocurrency processor;
and required return inspection.
For ordinary discretionary returns, Watchbox World will generally initiate an approved refund within a reasonable period after the merchandise is received and inspected.
Where federal or state law requires a refund within a particular time, the legally required time period will control.
Banking institutions and card issuers may require additional time before refunded funds appear in an account.
27. EXCHANGES
Watchbox World may permit a return to be applied toward another watch.
Any price difference must be paid by the customer or refunded by Watchbox World, as applicable.
An exchange is considered a new transaction unless otherwise agreed in writing.
28. MANUFACTURER WARRANTIES
A manufacturer warranty may remain applicable to certain watches depending on the manufacturer, warranty date, original sale, geographic conditions, prior service, transferability rules, and other manufacturer policies.
Watchbox World does not control whether a manufacturer will honor a manufacturer warranty.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Watchbox World does not represent that the manufacturer has inspected, approved, or authenticated a watch merely because a manufacturer warranty card accompanies it.
29. WATCHBOX WORLD LIMITED WARRANTIES
Where a watch is sold with a separate Watchbox World warranty, the warranty period and coverage stated on the applicable product listing, invoice, warranty document, or purchase agreement will control.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, a Watchbox World mechanical warranty generally concerns defects in the internal mechanical operation of the watch that arise during normal use.
A Watchbox World warranty ordinarily does not cover:
normal wear and tear;
cosmetic scratches;
cases;
bezels;
crystals;
crowns;
bracelets;
straps;
clasps;
batteries;
water damage;
moisture damage;
impact damage;
accidental damage;
magnetization caused by external conditions;
damage resulting from misuse;
damage resulting from unauthorized repair;
theft;
loss;
or damage resulting from failure to properly operate or maintain the watch.
Specific written warranty terms supplied with a transaction prevail over this general description.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to disclaim or restrict warranty rights that applicable law does not permit us to disclaim or restrict.
30. WATER RESISTANCE
Water resistance deteriorates over time and may be affected by gaskets, seals, crowns, pushers, crystals, prior opening, impact, temperature, age, and service history.
Unless Watchbox World expressly provides current water-resistance testing results or an express written water-resistance warranty, customers should not assume that a pre-owned or vintage watch remains water resistant to its original manufacturer specification.
Vintage watches should generally be treated with particular caution around water.
31. ACCURACY AND MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE
Mechanical watches do not necessarily maintain the same accuracy as electronic clocks or quartz watches.
Performance can vary due to:
movement condition;
wearing habits;
position;
temperature;
magnetism;
power reserve;
service history;
and movement design.
A timekeeping measurement taken during inspection represents performance under test conditions and does not guarantee identical performance in every wearing environment.
32. SELLING A WATCH TO WATCHBOX WORLD
Watchbox World may purchase watches directly from consumers, collectors, dealers, businesses, estates, or other lawful owners.
A seller may request a valuation by submitting information and photographs.
An initial quote is generally based on the information available to us before physical inspection.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, an online, email, telephone, text-message, or photograph-based quote is preliminary and subject to physical inspection.
33. SELLER INFORMATION AND ACCURACY
A seller requesting a quote must provide materially accurate information concerning the watch.
Relevant information may include:
brand;
model;
reference;
condition;
approximate age;
box and papers;
warranty card;
purchase receipt;
service history;
known damage;
replacement components;
aftermarket components;
engraving;
movement problems;
water damage;
missing components;
and ownership history.
A seller should disclose any material condition known to the seller that would reasonably affect value.
34. GUARANTEED PURCHASE RANGES
Watchbox World may occasionally issue a “guaranteed purchase range” or similar conditional offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such an offer assumes that the watch received:
matches the watch represented;
is authentic;
has clear legal title;
has no material undisclosed damage;
has no undisclosed aftermarket components;
has no undisclosed material mechanical defect;
and otherwise substantially corresponds to the information and photographs submitted by the seller.
If those assumptions are satisfied, Watchbox World will honor the applicable written purchase terms.
If physical inspection reveals a material discrepancy, we may provide a revised offer.
The seller may reject a revised offer and request return of the watch, subject to the applicable agreement and shipping terms.
35. INSPECTION OF WATCHES OFFERED FOR SALE
Physical inspection may include evaluation of:
authenticity;
case;
dial;
hands;
crystal;
bezel;
crown;
pushers;
movement;
timekeeping;
amplitude;
bracelet;
clasp;
serial information;
reference information;
water resistance where appropriate;
box;
papers;
and accessories.
Watchbox World ordinarily endeavors to complete inspections promptly, and many inspections may be completed within approximately one to two business days after delivery.
Complex authentication issues, vintage watches, high-value watches, weekends, holidays, service evaluations, or additional verification may require additional time.
36. REVISED OFFERS
If inspection identifies an issue affecting market value, Watchbox World may revise the proposed purchase price.
Reasons may include:
condition materially differing from the description;
mechanical defects;
service requirements;
incorrect or replacement components;
aftermarket components;
missing links;
polishing;
damage;
water intrusion;
authentication issues;
incorrect box or papers;
or other material discrepancies.
Watchbox World will communicate the revised offer to the seller.
The seller may accept or reject the revised offer unless a separate signed agreement provides otherwise.
37. SELLER REPRESENTATIONS AND OWNERSHIP
By submitting or selling a watch to Watchbox World, the seller represents and warrants that:
the seller is the lawful owner or is legally authorized by the lawful owner to sell it;
the watch is not stolen;
the watch is not subject to an undisclosed lien, security interest, financing agreement, ownership claim, insurance claim, probate restriction, or other encumbrance;
the transaction does not violate applicable law;
information supplied about ownership and authenticity is truthful;
and the seller has legal authority to transfer good title to Watchbox World.
Watchbox World may request identification, purchase receipts, warranty documentation, proof of ownership, or additional documentation where reasonably necessary.
38. STOLEN, COUNTERFEIT OR SUSPICIOUS PROPERTY
Watchbox World does not knowingly purchase stolen or counterfeit property.
If we reasonably suspect that an item may be stolen, counterfeit, fraudulently obtained, or involved in unlawful activity, we may suspend the transaction while conducting reasonable verification.
Where required or appropriate under applicable law, Watchbox World may cooperate with law enforcement, insurers, manufacturers, payment providers, or other authorized parties.
A person submitting property to Watchbox World remains responsible for the accuracy of their ownership representations.
39. SHIPPING A WATCH TO WATCHBOX WORLD
For approved U.S. transactions, Watchbox World may provide a prepaid and insured shipping label.
When we provide a shipping label, the seller must comply with the shipping instructions supplied with that label.
High-value packages may be required to be tendered directly to a staffed, authorized carrier location.
Unless Watchbox World expressly approves otherwise, sellers should not leave high-value packages:
in unattended drop boxes;
at unauthorized third-party shipping counters;
at convenience-store drop points;
or with another service that does not comply with our shipping instructions.
Failure to follow shipping instructions may affect insurance coverage or responsibility for the shipment.
The seller should retain the carrier acceptance receipt until the transaction is complete.
40. INBOUND SHIPPING RISK
Where Watchbox World provides an insured shipping label and the seller correctly follows all provided shipping instructions, responsibility for an insured loss occurring after documented carrier acceptance will be determined under the applicable shipping and insurance arrangement.
The seller must reasonably cooperate with an insurance investigation if the package is lost, damaged, or tampered with.
If a seller independently uses another shipping method without Watchbox World’s written approval, the seller generally remains responsible for arranging appropriate insurance and bears the risk associated with that shipment until Watchbox World receives it, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
41. PAYMENT TO WATCH SELLERS
After inspection and acceptance of a final purchase price, Watchbox World may issue payment using:
bank wire;
ACH;
check;
or another mutually approved method.
Where same-day payment is offered, “same day” means that Watchbox World will endeavor to initiate payment on the same business day following final transaction approval, subject to applicable banking cutoff times, compliance reviews, weekends, holidays, technical interruptions, and information supplied by the seller.
The time at which funds actually become available is controlled by the receiving bank or payment system.
Watchbox World is not responsible for ordinary processing delays imposed by the seller’s financial institution.
42. BANKING INFORMATION PROVIDED BY SELLERS
Sellers are responsible for providing accurate payment information.
Watchbox World is not responsible for payment delays resulting from incorrect account numbers, routing numbers, recipient names, closed accounts, bank restrictions, or inaccurate information supplied by a seller, except where Watchbox World itself causes the error.
We may require confirmation of corrected payment instructions before resending funds.
43. REJECTED PURCHASE OFFERS
If Watchbox World and the seller cannot agree on a final purchase price, the watch will ordinarily be returned in accordance with the applicable transaction instructions.
Unless otherwise agreed, we will return the same watch and accessories received.
A seller must provide a valid return address and cooperate with signature requirements and delivery arrangements.
44. TRADE-IN TRANSACTIONS
Watchbox World may accept eligible watches as trade-ins toward another purchase.
Trade-in value is determined using factors similar to those used for outright purchases.
A trade-in remains subject to physical inspection and verification.
If a trade-in is part of a combined transaction involving the purchase of another watch, the applicable invoice or trade agreement may establish additional provisions concerning:
trade-in value;
balance due;
returns;
transaction cancellation;
shipping;
and treatment of the traded watch if the related purchase is cancelled.
Any separate signed trade agreement will control where it conflicts with these general Terms.
45. CONSIGNMENT
Watchbox World may offer consignment arrangements in certain circumstances.
Consignment is not created merely because Watchbox World possesses a customer’s watch.
A consignment arrangement must be expressly accepted by Watchbox World and should be governed by a separate written consignment agreement addressing matters such as:
ownership;
asking price;
commission;
insurance;
sales authority;
duration;
payment;
returns;
and termination.
The separate consignment agreement will control over these Terms with respect to the consigned property.
46. SPECIAL ORDERS AND WATCH SOURCING
A customer may ask Watchbox World to source a specific watch that is not presently in our inventory.
A sourcing request does not guarantee that a watch will be found.
We may require a deposit before beginning a special sourcing transaction.
Before collecting a non-refundable deposit, Watchbox World will disclose that the deposit is non-refundable and any material conditions attached to it.
Specially sourced merchandise may be designated Final Sale when that condition is disclosed before the customer commits to the transaction.
47. APPRAISALS AND MARKET ESTIMATES
Any valuation, estimate, quote, or market commentary provided by Watchbox World is based on information available at the time.
Luxury-watch markets fluctuate.
Factors affecting value may include:
condition;
completeness;
rarity;
reference;
dial;
production period;
service history;
market supply;
collector demand;
dealer inventory;
economic conditions;
and manufacturer pricing.
A purchase quote from Watchbox World is not necessarily an insurance appraisal, replacement-cost appraisal, tax valuation, estate valuation, or representation of the price another dealer or private buyer might pay.
48. INVESTMENT DISCLAIMER
Luxury watches can increase or decrease in market value.
Watchbox World does not guarantee appreciation, investment performance, future resale value, liquidity, or profitability.
Statements regarding historical prices, scarcity, collectibility, or market demand are informational and should not be interpreted as financial or investment advice.
Customers should purchase watches based on their own objectives and judgment.
49. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Customers retain any dispute and chargeback rights provided by applicable law and their financial institution.
We encourage customers to contact Watchbox World promptly if there is a legitimate transaction issue so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve it.
Customers must not knowingly submit false, misleading, or fraudulent chargeback claims.
Watchbox World reserves the right to provide transaction records, shipment records, delivery confirmation, correspondence, authentication records, photographs, signed agreements, and other relevant evidence to a bank, payment processor, card network, insurer, law-enforcement agency, or other authorized party when responding to a payment dispute.
50. COMPLIANCE WITH LAW
Watchbox World may refuse, delay, or cancel a transaction when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, sanctions, trade restrictions, export rules, payment rules, fraud-prevention requirements, or other lawful obligations.
We may conduct reasonable transaction screening or identity verification for high-value transactions.
No person may use Watchbox World services for unlawful activity.
51. WEBSITE USE
You agree not to:
use our website for unlawful purposes;
attempt unauthorized access to our systems;
introduce malicious code;
scrape or systematically extract our inventory or proprietary content without permission;
impersonate another person;
submit false information;
interfere with website operation;
circumvent security measures;
or misuse Watchbox World intellectual property.
We may restrict or terminate access where misuse is detected.
52. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise indicated, the Watchbox World website and its original content—including text, graphics, photographs created for Watchbox World, logos, designs, page layouts, databases, software, and other original materials—are owned by or licensed to Watchbox World and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
No content may be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, exploited commercially, or used to create a misleading affiliation with Watchbox World without authorization.
Manufacturer trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
53. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
Our website may contain links to or integrations with services operated by third parties, including:
payment providers;
financing companies;
shipping carriers;
social-media platforms;
authentication tools;
electronic-signature providers;
and other external services.
Watchbox World does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their independent privacy, security, availability, or contractual practices.
Use of a third-party service may be subject to separate terms established by that provider.
54. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SIGNATURES
By conducting business electronically with Watchbox World, you consent to receiving transaction-related communications electronically where permitted by law.
These communications may include:
quotes;
invoices;
purchase agreements;
shipping labels;
inspection results;
payment confirmations;
order confirmations;
return authorizations;
and other transaction records.
Electronic signatures may be used for agreements.
An electronic signature, electronic acceptance, click acceptance, or other legally recognized electronic method may have the same effect as a handwritten signature to the extent provided by applicable law.
You should retain copies of important electronic transaction records.
55. EMAIL AND SMS COMMUNICATIONS
Providing an email address or telephone number authorizes Watchbox World to use that information for communications reasonably necessary to administer a requested transaction.
Transaction communications may include order updates, shipping notifications, quote discussions, payment confirmations, authentication questions, and customer-service messages.
Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
Where an unsubscribe or opt-out mechanism is required, customers may use that mechanism to stop applicable marketing communications.
Opting out of marketing does not necessarily prevent communications necessary to complete an existing transaction.
56. PRIVACY
Our collection and use of personal information is additionally governed by our Privacy Policy.
Depending on the transaction, personal information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary for:
payment processing;
fraud prevention;
shipping;
insurance;
identity verification;
website operation;
legal compliance;
electronic signatures;
customer service;
or other legitimate business operations.
Watchbox World does not obtain ownership of a customer’s personal information merely because it is supplied during a transaction.
57. SECURITY
Watchbox World uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures appropriate to the nature of our operations.
However, no internet transmission, email system, website, payment network, or data-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Customers should protect account credentials, payment information, and transaction communications.
Customers should immediately contact Watchbox World if they reasonably believe someone is impersonating Watchbox World or attempting to redirect a transaction.
58. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
Except for express warranties made by Watchbox World, including any applicable Authentication Guarantee or separately issued written warranty, products and services are provided to the maximum extent permitted by law without additional implied representations beyond those required under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes an implied warranty, statutory warranty, consumer protection, or other right that applicable law does not permit Watchbox World to exclude.
59. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Watchbox World will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from a transaction or use of our services where such damages may legally be excluded.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, Watchbox World’s aggregate liability arising directly from a particular merchandise transaction will ordinarily not exceed the amount paid to Watchbox World for the merchandise involved in that transaction.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or other circumstances for which applicable law prohibits limitation.
60. INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by law, a person who intentionally misuses our services, knowingly submits fraudulent information, sells property without lawful title, violates another person’s intellectual-property rights through their conduct, or otherwise causes Watchbox World loss through unlawful conduct agrees to be responsible for losses reasonably resulting from that conduct.
This provision does not require an ordinary consumer to indemnify Watchbox World for Watchbox World’s own unlawful conduct, negligence where liability cannot be waived, or violation of consumer-protection law.
61. FORCE MAJEURE
Watchbox World will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:
natural disasters;
extreme weather;
carrier interruptions;
labor disputes;
government actions;
war;
civil unrest;
terrorism;
power failures;
internet outages;
payment-network interruptions;
customs delays;
pandemics;
or similar events.
This provision does not eliminate any refund or cancellation rights that applicable law grants to a customer because of a delayed or unfulfilled order.
62. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and transactions with Watchbox World are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law applies or another jurisdiction’s non-waivable consumer-protection laws must apply.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods will not apply to the extent its application may lawfully be excluded.
63. DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND VENUE
Before commencing formal litigation, the parties are encouraged to make a good-faith effort to resolve a dispute directly.
A customer may submit a written description of the dispute to Watchbox World, including relevant transaction information and the requested resolution.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, and subject to any mandatory rights or venue protections provided under applicable consumer law, legal proceedings relating to these Terms may be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Illinois.
Where applicable law gives a consumer a non-waivable right to pursue a claim in another jurisdiction or forum, that right remains unaffected.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from pursuing an eligible matter in small-claims court.
64. CONSUMER RIGHTS
These Terms are not intended to eliminate rights that cannot legally be waived.
If any provision conflicts with a mandatory federal, state, or local consumer-protection law applicable to a particular transaction, the mandatory law will control to the extent of the conflict.
All remaining provisions will continue to apply.
65. NO WAIVER
If Watchbox World does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not automatically constitute a permanent waiver of the provision.
A waiver relating to one transaction does not automatically constitute a waiver relating to another transaction.
66. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permissible or severed where necessary.
The remaining provisions will remain in effect.
67. ASSIGNMENT
Customers may not assign contractual rights or obligations relating to a transaction to another person without Watchbox World’s consent where the assignment would materially alter our obligations or risk.
Watchbox World may assign these Terms as part of a legitimate merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of business assets, or transfer to an affiliated entity, subject to applicable law.
68. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with any applicable:
invoice;
product listing;
purchase agreement;
trade agreement;
consignment agreement;
warranty;
return authorization;
Privacy Policy;
or other written agreement specifically applicable to a transaction,
constitute the agreement between the parties concerning the relevant subject matter.
If a separately signed transaction agreement directly conflicts with these general Terms, the specifically negotiated transaction agreement will generally control with respect to that transaction.
69. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Watchbox World may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes to our services, policies, technology, business operations, or applicable law.
The revised Terms will become effective on the date stated at the beginning of the updated version.
Changes will not retroactively alter material contractual rights relating to an already completed transaction unless the parties agree or applicable law requires otherwise.
Customers should review the Terms applicable at the time of each transaction.
70. CONTACTING WATCHBOX WORLD
Questions regarding these Terms, purchases, sales, trade-ins, authentication, shipping, returns, or other transactions should be directed to Watchbox World through the contact information published on the official Watchbox World website.
Customers should use only contact information appearing on official Watchbox World channels when communicating sensitive financial or transaction information.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing Watchbox World’s website, submitting an order, purchasing merchandise, submitting a watch for valuation, accepting an offer, participating in a trade, signing an electronic agreement, or otherwise completing a transaction with Watchbox World, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
